As the population grows older, health problems such as hearing loss, cognitive decline, and dementia become major concerns worldwide.  These conditions can directly affect communication and have devastating emotional and psychological consequences for the individual, caregivers, and family members.  Given the high incidence of these conditions in the older population and their interconnectedness, early diagnosis of hearing loss and hearing rehabilitation could significantly improve the quality of life.  By enhancing hearing abilities, communication skills, social interaction, and psychological well-being, hearing rehabilitation may positively impact cognition.
